Florian talks about the "Markt Trilogy": Three different art experiments, he is developing together with Manuel and Max, all asking a simple question: What's my value?
The first part of the trilogy - Der Datenmarkt - reflected the value of our personal data. Therefore they launched the first supermarket where customers where only able to purchase groceries with their Facebook data. No debit. No credit. No cash. Every product had its price tag: 5 Facebook messages for dumplings, 10 likes for toast, 5 photos for fruits, etc.
Currently they work on the second part of the trilogy: "Der Schwarzmarkt - One hour of labor for art". The Schwarzmarkt recruited 40 different professionals to paint a completely black art-piece in one hour. The result: 40 similar looking paintings with one great difference: The price tag. Each painting is priced according to the participants' hourly wage, ranging from 2€ (student) up to 5000€ (manager).
Furthermore they'll give a short preview of their final chapter: Der Weltmarkt. The last project will interpret the devaluation of humans through artificial intelligence.
Florian lives in Berlin and works as a Data Scientist for The unbelievable Machine Company, Manuel and Max currently live in New York City and work as a creative team at Translation llc, an ad agency owned by Jay Z.
